The Story

Elida Estate has been delivering some of the highest rated coffees in Panama earning a Top 10 finish in Best of Panama in various categories every year since 2007. Wilford Lamastus, a third-generation producer, has leveraged the increased price of the coffee into farm improvements and higher pay for his employees. Surrounded by rain forest and grown up to 1825 meter, this farm is the second highest in Panama. The cool nighttime temperatures at this altitude mean the trees take 2 to 3 years longer than average to begin producing, and ripening happens more slowly, which creates a more developed bean. This catuai varietal is honey-processed, producing the kind of bright, sweet coffee that has brought Lamastus such renown.
